Conditions of Sale

1. The highest bidder shall be the buyer and the auctioneer's decision is final in any dispute.

2. The auctioneer has absolute discretion to divide, combine or withdraw lots, to refuse bids and to regulate the bidding.

3. All lots put up for sale are subject (a) to any reserve imposed by the seller and (b) to the right of the seller to bid personally or through any other person.

4. All grading and description of lots will be undertaken by the auctioneer. Each lot is believed genuine (unless stated) but should any lot prove not to be as described the purchaser may return the lot in its original condition within 15 days of the sale. Purchasers having attended or viewed the lot may not subsequently reject any lot by reason of its grade or otherwise unless the item is not genuine, or has been altered so as to deceive.

Where notice of rejection has not been given (by telephone, recorded/registered post, or fax. Email is not secure and is used at the buyers risk - proof of sending will not be taken as proof of delivery.) within 15 days of the sale then the item is considered sold. Safety and costs of return are at the purchasers risk and registered post should be used.

6. Lots described with defects may not be rejected due to these defects.

7. Postal and other remote bids (eg. through the website, email) will only be accepted on multiple lots on the understanding that any lot not fully described will not be subject to the usual approval terms.

8. Buyers must satisfy themselves as to the accuracy of the their purchases at the time of viewing and/or delivery. The auctioneers will not be responsible for any discrepency after the lot(s) have left their custody.

9. Successful postal bidders will receive a statement of account as soon as possible after the sale. The full remittance including delivery charges should be forwarded within 5 days. The lots will then be forwarded by the auctioneers on approval unless payment is late (please review conditions 4 and 5 for time limits). Cheques from new clients will need to be cleared. Please allow 7 days.

10. The auctioneers only act as agents between the vendor and purchaser and will not be liable for any dispute which may arise between them,

11. Any person bidding for a third party will be fully liable for any purchases.

12. Lots purchased by overseas clients will be sent with a full customer declaration and it is the clients responsibility to ensure that the regulations of his/her own country are complied with.

13. No lots may be removed from the saleroom until they are paid for. All lots should be removed on the sale day. Cheques (unless covered by a cheque card) must be cleared before removal, unless prior arrangements have been made.

14. Accounts are rendered in GBP. Payments in major currencies are accepted and any adjustment must be made as soon as possible. Bank collection/conversion charges are the purchasers responsibility. Please contact us for further information on making payments in currencies other than GBP.

Delivery Information

Delivery charges are calculated on a per-product basis. Please note any comments in the lot description


Winning bidders will be notified following the sale. All winning bids are subject to buyers premium at the current rate. There will also be an additional charge for postage and packing, unless lots are picked up following the sale. Errors and omissions are excepted.
